UED categories have now been accepted
by major dealers, associations and
publications as the industry standard
for used manufacturing equipment.
We suggest that once you find categories
for frequently-used types of equipment
you make a note of them. Category codes are
six-characters (eg; 0P5102 is the code
for "Presses, hydraulic") although you
don't need to enter the leading zero.
If you don't know the appropriate category
you may search on key words or phrases such as "lathe"
or "hydraulic press". You may also enter a
manufacturer's name or a combination
of phrase and manufacturer. This
method will return categories that
are appropriate to the entered term(s).
You may also search based on type
of equipment, from the list shown below.
In most cases, the
chosen specialty area will be broken down
into sub-types (eg; "boring machines" under
the metalworking heading. This will take an
extra step but is better for the new user or
someone uncertain of the terminology in use.
